Get Started
Our 5-phase remodeling process is designed to provide our clients with a seamless remodeling experience. Explore our process below to learn more about what you can expect when you choose Blue Ridge Design Build.

Discovery Let’s Get to know each other
When we first start working together, its all about figuring out whether we will be a good fit for one another. Both client and contractor must mutually decide that this partnership will work. To figure this out
We schedule a call to discuss your wants and wishes for the project and discuss some basic parameters of how we work.
After that, we will set up our initial consultation meeting where our team will come visit the project site to gather a more detailed scope of work, take photos of the space, and make sure we have an understanding of your project priorities. We will also brainstorm ideas, review in detail each step in our process, and discuss the potential project investment.
At the end of our Discovery phase, you will have the option to move into our 3-Step Design Process

Design
A well developed Design, Specification Sheet, and Cost Proposal are the three most critical elements to a successful remodel.
Once we’ve decided we will work well together, the Design Process can start which will uncover a wealth of information about your future remodel project. Our Design Process is broken into 3-Steps to help us focus on the right thing at the right time. This allows you to form a picture and expectation for the project as we go. The Design Phase is a fee based service with incremental payment each step of the way.
In our first Step we will review conceptual ideas, address specific project requirements, review similar projects we’ve completed, and explore some probable range of construction cost figures.
Step two will include more detailed drawing and the start of selecting your products and finishes for the space. This allows us to begin budgeting and building a project specific estimate.
In Step three, we will be finalizing design details, working out feasibility of the design with all trades partners, and preparing the final contract documents.
Once we have a final Design, Project Specification Sheet, and Cost Proposal, we will review all three in detail to be sure we’re on the same page about the way each part of the project has been specified.

Plan
Proper Production Planning helps us become a respectful and timely guest in your home.
Once we’ve agreed on all aspects of your remodel project and signed the construction contract, we can begin staging and preparing the project for the start of construction.
- Our team begins construction scheduling
- Long lead materials will be purchased
- Permitting process
- Our Design Team meets with our Build Team to discuss project start, scheduling, and begins preparing on-site crews
Your Build Team will reach out to have the Pre-construction meeting to discuss logistics and ways we can minimize our impact while we work where you live. At this point you will get to meet the Lead Carpenter assigned to your project. Your Lead will be your main point of contact throughout the project.

Build – Clean & Safe Job Sites
At this point, you’ve done the majority of your leg work and it’s up to us to carry out the project the way it was planned. For the project duration, a dedicated Lead Carpenter is assigned to your project, and only your project. Your Lead will be available daily for in person communication and the rest of the Blue Ridge Team is one quick Co-Construct message away.
Your Lead Carpenter will be onsite each day making progress and coordinating project details for each phase of the build.
Floor & home protection products will be installed to encourage a clean & safe jobsite throughout the timeline of the build.
At certain times during the construction, we will ask you to step into the space and imagine it complete. We will ask you questions like where you will want light switches mounted and where you may want to store hanging accessories so we can make sure the space is laid out and customized to what you need.
Bi-weekly site meetings will address details and outstanding questions as the build progresses.
To ensure the build is completed the way you imagined, we will collaborate with you on our punch list process.

Warranty – Comfort Beyond the Build
As you begin to enjoy life in your remodeled space, you will be glad to know that the new space is backed by a year of warranty coverage from our Team. A years warranty with Blue Ridge looks something like this.
Warranty kickoff meeting at the end of the project marks the start of this phase, provides an in-depth accounting review of the project, includes a warranty book and presentation, and provides you an opportunity to provide feedback to our team.
We will provide all documentation gathered during the project regarding your products so that the product warranties will pass through to you as the final purchaser.
Our team will be available for a year to service your project via warranty requests and help facilitate any product warranty requests.
We will check in with you at 6 months and 12 month intervals to see if you have any warranty requests we can help with.
Beyond a year, we will keep record of your project in case there is a question your warranty book can’t answer.
