Bathroom Remodel Scope of Work

This one-of-a-kind en-suite bedroom/bathroom boasts a bold character while incorporating all the modern conveniences. A heated floor, towel warmer, lighted mirror, and dual niche shower are just a few of the features that elevate this space.

The existing home was a 3-bedroom house with one cramped and dated bathroom. The project scope consisted of removing a wall between two of the bedrooms to create one larger room that would double as a bedroom & bathroom. The European inspired wet room design style turned out to be an excellent way to achieve a larger feel out of both rooms. The two rooms were separated by a bearing wall that was removed and a beam was installed and wrapped with cedar wood. The same cedar wood was used to build a custom barn door. These wood choices went together well with the vanity coloring which was a natural teak wood.

The rest of the finishes in the space carry a unique bright and airy “brand” of their own. This client loved color and they did not hold back in using it to create a cheery space they could relax and unwind.

Bathroom Design Details & Challenges

There were a few challenges that came with the nature of the age of this home. One of the rooms utilized in this project had been added on via an addition. The original tie-in of the addition was not done as well as it could have been so remodeling a previous remodel made it a little challenging to get all the final new finishes to line up the way they should.

Another challenge was utilizing the existing shape to still achieve all the design elements in the wishlist. The one room feel was important & the tub was supposed to be a statement piece as you entered the room, but a wide open room would have been inconsiderate of the privacy you may want while in the shower and utilizing the water closet. The final design combines a wide open and airy floor plan that uses a ¾ wall topped with glass and a partition wall to provide privacy to the shower and toilet. Overall, the room achieves both needs identified.
