Marvin Lawrence’s (Tims Father) words of wisdom at the inception of Blue Ridge were based on the basic, but vital, principle of always doing what you say you are going to do. Integrity is the embodiment of this same spirit even when behind closed doors. This is especially important in the remodeling industry when so many companies cover-up mistakes or shortcuts with paint and trim.

Certifications

Meeting the Highest Standards

BRDB was the first CGR in southwest Virginia. The CGR designation helps you determine which remodeling contractor you can trust to do a professional, high quality job. CGR designation assures you that your remodeler has met NAHB standards of business practice and completed relevant educational requirements; has a proven track record of successfully completing projects and pledges to uphold the CGR Code of Ethics.

The ultimate symbol of the building professional, the Graduate Master Builder (GMB) designation is for experienced veterans only. The Graduate Master Builder designation is earned through the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

CAPS is a program through AARP and NAHB for specialists who work with active, aging adults. BRDB was the first CAPS remodeler in southwest Virginia.

Susan Davidson is a certified Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer (AKBD) of the NKBA. As the only trade association dedicated exclusively to this industry, the primary purpose of NKBA certification programs is to provide for the health, safety, and welfare of the public. To ensure this, certification is offered exclusively to individuals who prove specialized qualifications through experience and testing.

CGP is a program through NAHB certifying building professionals with skills and knowledge necessary to remodel or modify a home with green building principles.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) developed a rule on July 6, 2010 requiring anyone who disturbs lead paint in homes built before 1978 to acquire training and certification for lead-safe work practices. BRDB was the first remodeling company in the New River Valley to become Lead-Safe Certified.

NAHB is one of the largest trade associations in the United States. Being a member shows BRDB is a licensed building professional of the highest integrity.

NRVHBA is a professional trade organization for the residential and commercial building industry. President Tim Lawrence has served as an active member within the association over the past 30 years filling roles on the board of directors and as secretary and vice president for several years.

NARI is a professional organization that is dedicated to setting a standard within the remodeling industry. NARI members are vetted to make sure they uphold a certain standard of professionalism, integrity, and quality.
